Good grief! How is it possible that Joy is already 7 months old. It’s just so crazy. So she has her six month appointment (yeah I know a month late) this week so we’ll get her real stats put up, but I weighed her at home and measured her today and this is where she is at. 17 lbs and 25 1/2 inches. I can’t believe how much she is growing and changing. She sits up completely on her own now. She is such a doll and has such a fun personality. She loves to pull herself up to a standing position with me. She has a toy that she plays in that has all sorts of fun things to play with. One side has piano keys that play a song when you push on them and they light up. She really enjoys that, but has figured out when she plays the music David and I get SOOO excited (cuz she figured it out) so that’s her new game. She just loves to see us get so excited and then you should see her bounce all over the place and laugh in it. It’s adorable! She is just so incredibly smart and entertaining! We love her tons.

So I couldn’t resist this next picture. I made homemade baby food. I am actually quite proud of myself. I made it out of fresh zucchini straight from my garden. You can tell how impressed Joy was huh. UMMMM maybe not so much mom!

Well I have so been enjoying the fresh veggies out of my garden the last couple of weeks. I’ve even gotten to share some with family, neighbors, and friends. I really do like doing that. It’s so fun to watch something grow and see the real results from the hard work. So for those who don’t know, I’m a big fan of squash! So I have four different kinds of squash that are growing. One of my yellow squash plants decided to produce what I have deemed twins. I got three sets of them. So for fun I took a pic of one that was about the size of Joy’s head. I’ve gotten plenty of squash much bigger, but thought it would be fun to take a picture of one of the twins.  Here’s to loving my garden.

So who would have thought that after all of the wonderful and emotional times that we have had in the last three weeks that a little piece of paper would make me cry.  For all of those that think they are funny, no it was not our bill for the adoption :) We got a beautiful thing in the mail on Saturday. It was Joy’s birth certificate. While that may not seem significant or exciting, how about the fact that her parents are listed as David and Alicia Millet. There is no mention of anything related to her adoption. Just a beautifully wonderful normal birth certificate.  I know it’s kind of hard to see, but wanted to share it.

Alright I got tagged last week so I’m going to see if I can do this right or not. I haven’t actually followed through with one yet. So here we go

1. When did you meet the 1st person on your list?

Amber is my cousin so I’ve known her forever. I did meet Scott when I moved to AZ in ‘99. I remember doing quite a number of things with the two of them and getting to make more friends thankfully to their willingness to share their time and friends with me. They certainly made my move down there an easier adjustment.

2. What do you like about the 3rd person?

I love that after almost 15 years of of no contact we can pick up right where we left off. I like that April is a fabulous photographer. I love that she is so willing to share her knowledge on so many topics!

3.What do you like best about the 5th and 6th people on your list?

I like best about Derek and Christine that they have given me two beautiful nieces and two handsome nephews.

What I like best about Sam and Jaime are all the fun double dates we went on with them in AZ. We had lots of fun.

4. How long have you known the 9th person on your list?

I have known Laurissa her entire life. Sheesh what is that almost 28 years?! Good grief. She is such a fantastic sister, whom I love dearly. I’ve known Blake for 3 1/2 years. I can’t believe you guys have been married that long already. Blake is so much fun and truly I love him, especially how wonderfully he cares for my sister!

5. What impresses you about the 12th and 13th people on your list?

I’m so impressed by Melissa and Christian for the maturity and strength that got them through an incredibly difficult time in their lives. How amazing and supportive you two are!

I’m impressed by Michael and Nicoles hard work with my adorable nephew who is just a doll!

6. What is a memory of the 16th person on your list?

I remember going goofy golfing on one of Dave and my first dates with Reina and Aaron. Raegan was only a few months old at the time I believe. Man, I can’t believe she’s going into 2nd grade. That is just too crazy!

7. Something nice about the last person on your list.

Tilleea and Amran are incredible friends. I so miss living by them and sharing more double dates, dinners, movie nights with the two of them. I especially miss my cardmaking/scrapbooking evenings with Tilleea. What a true friend. You guys are one of those friends that knows all the “stuff” about us and still keep us around. I love all the laughs that we had together and can only hope they contine.

Ok, so now I tag Laurissa & Blake, Laura, Nick & Becky, & Nicole & Jeff.

This was pretty fun, Thanks Tilleea!

Ok, I couldn’t help myself. I have a few new favorite pictures of Joy. Poor sweetheart is possibly finally cutting those teeth that she’s been drolling over for two months. She’s been running a low grade temp and super super fussy. She’s also been a bit clingy, which is not her norm. It’s not been a fun couple of days for anyone in this house.  These pictures were taken by April when she was here for the sealing, with her FANTASTIC camera.  So enjoy a few of these.

I wouldn\'t mess with her if I was you!

You just do not get more full of emotion than this little girl.It is the cutest thing. I love the pouty lip almost as much as I love her smiles. So darn cute!

Well Joy is having fun with new things going on in her life. At least we think so. She got to go camping this week for one.  We also were given a Johnny Jump Up which she hasn’t decided if she is in love with it or not.

She has also started eating some veggies. So far just squash and carrots. But we’re pretty sure she likes both so far. I’m not sure if it’s the food she likes or the idea that she’s getting bigger and gets something new. It’s pretty fun to feed her. She loves her time with dad. It’s so awesome to watch the two of them together.

August 3rd, 2008

Well, David and I are not big campers but our friends Laura and Alex invited us to go with them and their family this week. We drove down to Sandlake (it’s just over four hours south) on Thursday. We enjoyed some grilling, smores, a picnic at the beach, and some fantastic and much needed relaxation. One of the fun things we got to do was go quadding. Laura and Alex had three quads and the Rhino that we all enjoyed. It was so much fun. Alex took Dave and I out with Laura and showed us how the Rhino REALLY works. It was hilarious. Laura and I were having way to much fun being thrown and bounced around. It’s always great to make fun memories. In the pics below, Dave is the one in orange on the quad. I think he had TONS of fun doing this.

While we were down there we were about 15 minutes away from Tilamook and we went to the cheese factory and did a little tour and everything. We got to see how they make their cheese. It was actually pretty neat.
