Ok, so Dave and I were having a conversation a few weeks back about all the fun things I’ve been doing this summer and I couldn’t decide what the right word was for it. Was I getting all homemadish or was it domesticated. I didn’t particularly like the word domesticated, so I’m still not sure what I shall use to describe all this fun stuff.  I’ve decided to include a bunch of pictures of the things that I have done. I have peach butter, hot pepper jelly, canned peaches, canned chicken, and fun pictures from the garden of things that I have actually grown.

I’ve spent a large amount of time on trying to be properly prepared and increasing our food storage.  Hopefully it will pay off with yummy and fresh tasting food this winter. I don’t have any pictures of the vegetable stock that April and I made in Richland, or the many meals with the fresh veggies from the garden, but we had many dinners with them as part of it.  I have even enjoyed making baby food for Joy out of some of the fresh fruits and veggies that I have. For the most part I think she likes them and I know it’s super healthy coming out of the garden, and a heck of a lot cheaper! Anyway, so I’m totally tooting my own horn with this post, but I’m very proud of me for the things I’ve learned and done this summer. Go me!

That’s AWESOME!! Seriously, isn’t it so rewarding and peaceful feeling when you can food or add to your food storage and feel prepared. It’s the opposite feeling of what’s going on in our economy. Awesome job!

Thanks Becky! Yeah, I hate what is happening, it’s so darn stressful. I pray that none of us are in a position where we have to use our food storage, but I sure am glad that we have it!

You got corn on the cob?! Seriously? Here? I’m so impressed! Your garden was/is amazing and you have every reason to feel so pleased with yourself! I should take a few lessons…I’m still going with my one lethal dose plan. J/K

Very impressive! You’re a domestic goddess, does that sound better? Actually, I consider things like that a little bit “crunchy”, as in granola, as in the sterotype… LOL Did you get that? I like crunchy myself, more interesting…..

Now my garden this year was terribly sad and pathetic…maybe if I’d watered it regularly….LOL

BTW, I tagged you for some dumb thing….and I NEVER do it, but I did this time, so head on over to my blog to check it out!
